Air Peace is set to launch direct flights from Lagos to São Paulo by late November 2025. According to the airline’s CEO, Allen Onyema, the flights will initially operate three times a week, with plans to increase frequency as demand grows. This development comes after Nigeria and Brazil signed a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) during President Bola Tinubu’s state visit to Brazil.

The Lagos-São Paulo route is expected to boost trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Africa’s largest economy and Latin America’s biggest market. The agreement marks a significant milestone in bilateral ties between Nigeria and Brazil, with potential benefits including:
Economic Benefits: Enhanced trade and investment opportunities between the two nations
Travel Convenience: Reduced travel time between Nigeria and Brazil by at least seven hours
Cultural Exchange: Strengthened social and cultural cooperation between Nigeria and Brazil
Air Peace’s CEO described the Lagos-São Paulo route as “long overdue” and a significant boost for Nigeria’s aviation sector. The airline will start with three weekly flights and scale up as passenger demand increases.
