The recent fatal incident in the Akinlalu community in the Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State, Nigeria, has led to casualties and an immediate order for a full investigation by the state governor.

The shooting incident involved operatives of the Amotekun Corps (a regional security outfit) and residents of the Akinlalu community.

Reports from the community allege the killing of four residents by the Amotekun operatives. This tragic loss of life has sparked outrage and demands for justice.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has expressed deep shock and has ordered a full investigation into the killings involving the Amotekun security outfit.

The governor, in a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday, also commiserated with the family of the victims, praying God to give them fortitude to bear the loss.

“I am a rule of law Governor. This matter is being investigated and any infraction will be dealt with within the context of the law. I have ordered a security council meeting on this incident and others such as fears of spill over from Kwara banditry attacks,” the statement quoted Adeleke as saying.
