HOLLYWOOD- The late actor Chadwick Boseman was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
The ceremony was a deeply emotional tribute to the actor, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 43 after a private four-year battle with colon cancer. His star is the 2,828th on the Walk of Fame and is located at 6904 Hollywood Boulevard.
Acceptance and Tribute: The star was accepted on his behalf by his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward-Boseman. In a poignant moment that captured the public’s attention, she knelt and placed a pair of her late husband’s black shoes directly on the newly unveiled star, symbolizing his “stepping” onto the iconic landmark.

Both Viola Davis and Ryan Coogler delivered heartfelt speeches. Davis called Boseman a “mighty, mighty elixir” who guided her toward a higher purpose in her work. Coogler, who often spoke of Boseman’s quiet wisdom, said the actor sometimes “felt thousands of years old” due to his immense intelligence and generosity.
The event cemented Boseman’s legacy, honoring a career defined by his powerful portrayals of historical figures like Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall, and his globally iconic role as King T’Challa in the Black Panther franchise.
