ANAMBRA, NIGERIA- In a notable post-election declaration, the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in the November 8 Anambra State gubernatorial election, Chioma Ifemeludike, has asserted that she is “a winner,” despite official results showing she secured only 292 votes.
The declaration, made on her official X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday, November 9, 2025, has generated significant conversation online, highlighting the candidate’s unique approach to the political landscape.
While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the incumbent governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the election winner with 422,664 votes, Ifemeludike views her performance through a lens of principles and clean politics.
Chioma Ifemeludike, the AAC candidate, officially polled 292 votes in the state-wide election.

Ifemeludike’s stance suggests a victory rooted in courage, sincerity, and the refusal to engage in political malpractice, rather than a numerical win. Her campaign, which attracted widespread online attention for its unconventional style and viral interviews, positioned her as an alternative voice committed to clean governance.
Chioma Ifemeludike, who is also a known actress, gained traction during the campaign for her visibility and her outspoken stance on critical issues, most notably her pledge to reform the state’s security architecture.
Key Campaign Focus: She consistently reiterated her commitment to improving security and pledged to disband the controversial Agunechemba security outfit, vowing that safety measures would serve the people and not partisan interests.
Alternative Voice: Her participation, alongside other smaller party candidates, is being celebrated by supporters for bringing alternative voices and genuine grassroots discourse into an election cycle typically dominated by the larger, established political parties.
Her declaration of victory, despite the small vote count, symbolizes a moral and ideological win for those who believe in running a campaign based on principles, regardless of the daunting financial and structural advantages held by the leading political machinery.
