Guinness Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Diageo Plc and a leading beverage company in Nigeria, has announced the appointment of Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh as its new Company Secretary. Her appointment will take effect on the 1st of November 2025., marking a significant step in strengthening the company’s corporate governance and compliance structure.
The announcement was made through a filing on the Nigerian Exchange on 23rd October 2025, notifying investors and the public of the development.
Ms. Ajibola-Jimoh takes over from Mrs. Abidemi Ademola, who will step down on 31st October 2025 after two years in the role.

Abimbola Ajibola-Jimoh is a highly respected legal and corporate governance expert with an impressive track record spanning several years across various sectors, including finance, manufacturing, and legal services.
She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Economic Law from the University of Strathclyde and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Ajibola-Jimoh joined Guinness Nigeria Plc in 2024 from MTN Nigeria Communications Plc, and currently serves as the company’s Senior Commercial Legal Manager and Data Protection Officer.
She brings to Guinness Nigeria a wealth of experience in corporate law, regulatory compliance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. She is known for her meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the Nigerian regulatory landscape, particularly within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
Before her appointment at Guinness Nigeria, Ajibola-Jimoh held key leadership roles where she successfully navigated complex legal challenges and ensured adherence to international best practices in corporate administration. She is a qualified legal practitioner and a member of relevant professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN).
The Importance of the Role
As the Company Secretary, Ajibola-Jimoh will play a critical role in the company’s executive structure. Her responsibilities will include:
Corporate Governance: Ensuring the Board of Directors operates in compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as the company’s own internal governance policies.
Regulatory Compliance: Serving as the primary liaison between Guinness Nigeria and regulatory bodies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
Board Administration: Managing board and committee meetings, advising the directors on their duties, and maintaining all corporate records.
