NIGERIA- Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu over the escalating state of insecurity in Nigeria and has demanded his resignation.

Falz’s call came in response to recent high-profile security breaches, including the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the attack by bandits on worshippers at a church in Kwara State.

Falz directly called for President Tinubu to “RESIGN NOW!”

He accused the President of consistently showing an “unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people” despite having “pretended to care in the past.”

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Falz notably referenced a 2014 tweet by Bola Tinubu, who was then an opposition leader. In that tweet, Tinubu had demanded the resignation of then President Goodluck Jonathan over the pervasive insecurity at the time, particularly following the Boko Haram insurgency.

“You have consistently shown your unwillingness to protect the lives and property of our people despite pretending to care in the past. RESIGN NOW!” Falz’s social media post on Wednesday reads.

Falz’s statement aligns with the growing public outcry and widespread discontent over the surge in abductions, banditry, and communal violence that continues to destabilize various regions across the country.
